US Vice President JD Vance stated that Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz would have serious consequences for Tehran itself.
"Their economic system is dependent on this waterway. There is no reason for them to see such a step," he stressed.
On the other hand, member of the Iranian National Security Committee, Esmail Kosari, stated that the closure of the strait is taking place after the American attacks.
The Iranian parliament has approved the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council is now expected to decide on this matter.
