Every year, millions of families face the same question: when is the right time to turn on the heating?
BestHeating experts, after analyzing Met Office data for the last three years, say the best date is October 17th.
"Once temperatures drop below 15°C, it's time to turn on the heating. By the end of the month, even the fittest among us will be forced to use it," explains John Klee, heating technology expert.
How high should you set the thermostat?
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a minimum temperature of 18°C indoors. This is considered safe and balanced for most people during the cold season.

However, for more sensitive groups – such as the elderly, children or people with chronic illnesses – a slightly higher temperature may be needed.
When should you turn on the heating during the day?
Experts advise against keeping the heating on all the time, as this is costly and inefficient.
Turn on the heating about half an hour before you wake up in the morning.
Turn it off again half an hour before you go to sleep.
If you are not at home, keep the heating off. /GazetaExpress/
