The speaker of Iran's parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, has mocked US President Donald Trump's claims that he has "defeated" Iran, CNN reports.
Responding to a post on X about Trump, Ghalibaf said the US president “has claimed to have ‘beaten’ us 9 times in the last two weeks. Ridiculous!”
It is not clear which nine comments Ghalibaf is referring to, but Trump has claimed on several occasions that the US is winning the war with Iran.
Yesterday, Trump posted on Truth Social that the US has “completely defeated and destroyed Iran, both militarily, economically, and in every other way.” He said in another social media post on Friday that Iran is “completely defeated and wants a deal – But not a deal I would accept!”
