An influencer has gone viral after publishing a list of ten hobbies and behaviors that, according to her, often appear in people with narcissistic tendencies - and some of them can make people feel a little uncomfortable.
Lisa Fuller, who describes herself as a "narcissistic abuse advocate," posted a video on Instagram that has been viewed over 800 times, listing several "red flags" that she says can help people understand if they are dealing with a narcissist.
"Let's talk about some of the weirdest hobbies that many narcissists have.
"If you have some of these hobbies, it doesn't mean you're a narcissist — but if they're combined with a lot of other signs, you should pay attention," she says.
The post has received over 4,000 likes and nearly 600 comments, with followers discussing the "strange" behaviors that, according to her, characterize people with narcissistic tendencies.
Hobby 1: Spending hours in the bathroom
Fuller claims that many narcissists have a "special connection to the bathroom."
“They hide there for hours: scrolling, sexting, watching porn, flirting, or seeking emotional 'fresh supply' — things they can't do in front of you.
"The bathroom is the place where no one controls them," she explains.
A 2014 study, published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, found that porn users have more narcissistic tendencies, due to body objectification and the search for instant gratification.

Hobby 2: Gossip – “like a full-time sport”
According to Fuller, narcissists turn gossip into a weapon, using every secret as a bargaining chip.
Clinical psychologist Seth Meyers wrote in Psychology Today that a tendency toward gossip and social manipulation is often linked to early emotional trauma.
Hobby 3: Watching others suffer
According to her, narcissists secretly rejoice when others face problems.
"It makes them feel powerful," says Fuller.
Experts explain that some narcissists were emotionally hurt during childhood and, because of their selfish wounds, the sensation of others' success hurts them emotionally.
Hobby 4: Collecting 'admirers'
Narcissists seek out people who support them, encourage them, and often do their "dark works" for them.
Psychologist Susan Krauss Whitbourne writes that narcissists show little empathy and explode into anger if their desires are not met.
Hobby 5: Obsession with image – selfies, gym, self-praise
Fuller says that narcissists are obsessed with their appearance.
They post a lot of selfies, show off their gym workouts, and try to appear more important than they really are. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, they can be the laziest people.
A study by Brunel University in the United Kingdom (2018) showed that people who frequently post about their workouts do so primarily to boast about their physical appearance.
Hobby 6: Creating plays for fun
"They love chaos," says Fuller.
"They instigate conflicts, then stand aside and act like they're the 'best' in the situation."

Hobby 7: Addiction to pornography, drugs, or alcohol
According to her, narcissists often use pornography, drugs or alcohol to avoid facing themselves.
Various studies link low or high levels of self-esteem with tendencies toward addictive behaviors.
8. Stalking and extreme control
Fuller says he has seen narcissists hire private investigators, install GPS in their partners' cars, or stalk them on social media.

9. “Rescue fantasy”: the desire to play the role of rescuer
"They give you money, shelter you in their home, or help you, only to end up repaying them with debt," she warns.
10. Exaggerated generosity as a form of control
Experts explain that this creates emotional dependence and obligation in the person being helped.

Is narcissism a widespread problem?
It is estimated that up to one in 20 people in the UK may have some signs of narcissistic personality disorder, but experts warn that it often remains underdiagnosed.
Meanwhile, the term "narcissist" is used so often online that it risks losing its meaning. But for those living with a partner, friend, or cohabitant with narcissistic behavior, the experience can be incredibly difficult and often abusive.
Experts warn that narcissists:
react harshly to criticism,
blame others for their mistakes,
and use manipulation to maintain a fragile self-image. /GazetaExpress/
