The Kosovo Police has announced that the operational plan for the country's Independence Day, the parade of the Kosovo Security Force and Kosovo Police, and the peaceful solidarity march have been implemented.
The police also announced that numerous festive activities were foreseen in this plan, and that, on the occasion of the Independence Day, according to the state agenda, numerous activities were carried out at the national level, including the parade of the Kosovo Security Force and the Kosovo Police.
"In order to ensure the smooth running of all activities over the two days (February 16-17), the Kosovo Police has undertaken the necessary operational and preventive planning measures, implementing special police plans, which have resulted in all activities being carried out successfully and peacefully," the announcement states, among other things, according to Gazeta Express.

Kosovo Police, on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, where numerous festive activities were planned, has taken the necessary measures through police operational plans to ensure that the two-day events proceed peacefully and festively.
On the occasion of the Independence Day, according to the state agenda, numerous activities were carried out at the national level, including the parade of the Kosovo Security Force and the Kosovo Police, which were attended by high-ranking state figures from Kosovo, Albania, and various local and international personalities.
Also today, February 17, 2026, at 14:00 PM, in the main squares of the capital "Zahir Pajaziti", "Mother Teresa" and "Skënderbeg", a "Peaceful Solidarity March" was held, with the motto "Justice, not politics", in support of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who are being tried in The Hague.
