In North Macedonia, the group of unemployed is dominated by men, with 61.4 percent of the total number of unemployed people being men, while 38.6 percent are women.
"The share of informal employment is increasing. The number of informally employed persons is 94,847, which is 11.5% more than in the previous year. The largest share of informally employed persons, 48.5%, is in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector, while 17.1% is in the Construction sector," the State Statistical Office reported.
North Macedonia registers 796 thousand people in the active population, of which 704 thousand are employed, while 91 thousand are unemployed.
In the group of employees, 57.6 percent of employees are men, while 42.4 percent are women.
Compared to 2024, North Macedonia recorded a 6.6 percent decrease in the number of unemployed people in 2025.
