Singer Dilan Çıtak, who has not had contact with her father, the renowned Turkish arabesque music artist İbrahim Tatlıses, for some time, has been involved in a serious incident in Bodrum.
She disobeyed the police's order to stop and drove her car towards a police officer. Only after the police fired warning shots in the air did she stop the car, the Turkish media reports. Aksam.
The incident took place in the Konacık neighborhood, along Atatürk Boulevard, where the vehicle driven by Çıtak was traveling in the emergency lane. She failed to respond to a stop order from a police patrol and was accused of driving dangerously towards one of the officers.
After being stopped with warning shots, Çıtak remained inside the car for a few minutes without getting out. She was later identified as singer Dilan Çıtak.
She was arrested on charges of “endangering traffic,” “disobeying police orders,” and “resisting a public official.” The investigation process against her at the police station is still ongoing.
According to the AA news agency, Dilan Çıtak Dörter had previously been involved in a similar incident. On September 17, during a Turkish Airlines flight from Bodrum to Istanbul, she was warned by a flight attendant not to take her pet out of the carrier, as per flight regulations. Çıtak got into a verbal altercation and then allegedly physically assaulted the cabin crew.
After the pilot reported the incident, the flight landed at Istanbul Airport, where Dörter was escorted by police. The flight attendant filed a report against her at the police station, while Çıtak was questioned and later released.
