The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has recommended to the Kosovo Police the suspension of three police officers from the Klina Police Station.

PIK investigators have begun to undertake investigative actions based on the legal authorizations of PIK, while the incident allegedly involving three police officers is reported to have occurred on June 28, 2025 on "Ismail Qemajli" street in the city of Klina, respectively in the yard of a citizen's house.

"Based on the findings of the initial investigation, there is a suspicion that police officers exceeded their authorizations when using force against a citizen, while in their statements and official reports a version was presented that turns out to be in complete contradiction with the recorded footage and factual evidence," the PIK statement states.

"Based on the powers defined by the Law on the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, PIK investigators have recommended the suspension of three police officers involved as suspects for the criminal offense of "Mistreatment while exercising official duty or public authorizations."

"PIK investigators, in coordination with the competent prosecutor's office, will also undertake other investigative actions towards clarifying all circumstances related to this case," the announcement concludes.
