Lura Ketchledge was just 19 years old when a horse accident in Virginia changed her life forever, leading to an extraordinary near-death experience.

Lura, now 66 and living by a lake in Arkansas, says that experiencing that event has transformed the way she sees the world. Although she now enjoys a quiet life and can swim for two hours at a time, her days were once spent mostly on foot.

The first accident that gave her an out-of-body experience occurred before she was 13, when she was thrown from a runaway horse. Lura described the moment: “It felt like I was about 4,5 feet behind the horse, watching it like a spectator. It was very shocking, but at the same time natural. Then the horse crushed me… I was seriously injured, but I managed to get up on one leg, call my parents and go to the hospital.”

In the 70s, she says, such an experience was considered a miracle: "There was no internet, and if you talked about psychic phenomena like leaving your body, you were labeled crazy." For this reason, Lura kept her first experience to herself.

In 1979, when she was 19, Lura went for a horseback ride, choosing an animal that was beyond her abilities. During a race with friends, the horse fell and Lura experienced her second out-of-body experience: “I knew I was going to crash… and then I found myself in a dark tunnel, clearly realizing that I was dead. I had no control over anything, but I was myself and I was moving through this tunnel.”

During this experience, she was able to connect spiritually with her late grandfather: "He had blue eyes like Paul Newman. It was so beautiful to see him... A strange feeling, like I was a child again, and I felt a great relief to see him."

Lura describes communicating with him as a form of thought, more honest and direct: “You didn’t speak with your mouth, but with your mind. It was more elegant and honest.” She also felt the consequences of her past actions and learned that you can live life as a good person, without interfering in the fate of others.

During the experience, Lura looked back at her previous existences and experienced a third dimension where she saw the lives of other souls, which disturbed her: “Touching an old man made me feel like him. I didn’t like reincarnation, it was hard to perceive.”

Then, she arrived at a beach where the colors seemed more vivid than on Earth and encountered the Tree of Life, illuminated and alive. In the end, everything disappeared and she returned to pure consciousness, experiencing “a feeling of completeness without lack and bathed in a sea of love.”

Suddenly, Lura was pulled back towards her grandfather's presence, but already in another dimension, "outside physical life," and then returned to her physical body, with pain similar to a bottle being resealed.

She eventually left the hospital, recovering, but she didn't talk about her experience until she was 25, when she confessed everything to her grandmother, who told her that her mother had also experienced the same thing. Lura now speaks openly about her near-death experience and considers it a great source of relief and meaning in life. /GazetaExpress/
