Former Foreign Minister and PDK MP, Enver Hoxhaj, has harshly criticized the political clashes between former President Vjosa Osmani and former Prime Minister Albin Kurti, saying that their conflict is not in the best interest of the country, but evidence of the way they have governed.
In a video published on Facebook, Hoxhaj said that an old political logic is being repeated in Kosovo according to which "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That's how the Romans thought, that's how some in Kosovo still think today, that the political enmity between the former president and the former prime minister is in favor of the opposition," Hoxhaj said.
He added that the two political leaders had come to power as a "coalition of hope," but according to him, their governance has produced the opposite.
"These two who falsely came to power as a coalition of hope, showed themselves to be the axis of evil," said Hoxhaj.
According to him, the recent clashes between them have been filled with mutual accusations about the way the state's interests have been treated.
"One was attacking the other for gambling with the interests of Kosovo. In fact, both have gambled with the state, democracy, society and media in Kosovo," he declared.
Hoxhaj also accused the two former partners in power of preventing the opposition from exercising its democratic role.
"Both have hit the opposition, preventing it last year from exercising its right to have a candidate for prime minister or by setting an unfavorable date for the elections," said Hoxhaj.
