"It was hard to see someone you always believed would be there for you, collapse before your eyes"
Famous singer, Rita Ora, has spoken openly about her difficult period as a teenager, when her life was shaken after her mother, Vera, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
At the time, she was only 13 years old and her mother underwent severe treatment. In an interview for the podcast "Begin Again," the Albanian star revealed that this profound experience has had a major impact on her mental health, including PTSD and panic attacks.
"It was hard to see someone you always believed would be there for you, collapse before your eyes. Even when you're a child, that's very hard," Rita says.
She also recalls the period when she tried to balance school with the help she could provide to her mother, who was going through a difficult treatment. "It was a very difficult period for my parents," the artist added.
"I started having regular check-ups and it really bothered me. I went through every part of this experience with my mother and it affected me deeply," said Rita Ora.
