Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has called on the Lebanese government to stop direct talks with Israel.
In his statements, Qassem warned that disarming Hezbollah would be tantamount to the "destruction" of the organization.
Later, Hezbollah released another statement in which the group's leader described direct negotiations with Israel as "unacceptable," adding that they would constitute a "victory" for Iran.
The statements come at a time when Lebanon is preparing for a new round of talks with Israel in Washington early next month. /Panorama
