A couple who moved into a property that once belonged to one of their friends were left shocked after finding something touching on the floor during renovations.

Anna from Gothenburg, Sweden, shared a TikTok video of her partner renovating their new home, purchased in 2019. Seven years later, they felt emotional remembering their friend's pet, who had died in that house before.

As Anna's partner worked on sanding the wooden threshold separating two rooms, they noticed strange stains on the laminate floor - which turned out to be the footprints of the deceased dog. Anna commented:

“The driveway, but there are footprints from the previous owner's dead dog, still near the front door… Don't worry, we won't let them disappear!”

Anna explained to Newsweek that they had moved into the house around the time the dog – named Dizzy – was sadly euthanized. She said:

“The family that lived there before is a family friend. I met him a few times. He was a wonderful dog, big and laid back… He was very old, and they were moving into an apartment. He couldn’t walk very much or see well, so unfortunately it was his time.”

Many TikTok users reacted with relief that the couple didn't seem to be covering up their tracks, some even suggesting ways to honor Dizzy's memory.

One suggested:

“If you ever need to replace them, cut them up and return them to the previous owners.”

This made Anna reflect:

"I love this idea, it would be the most wonderful gift. It would mean a lot to them too."

Others commented:

"This is a sign that the house is blessed. There will be wonderful love there." Anna replied warmly:

“It’s a beautiful thing to think about.”

Another noted:

"This reminds me that my dogs don't live that long. If you can, cut them up and frame them or do something with them."

While another wrote:

“Things like this make life worth living.” And another TikTok user added:

“Thank you for looking after them. This dog will take care of you as long as you live in his old home.”

Anna seems to believe this wholeheartedly and says she can "feel" the love in the property she now calls home. She added:

"It seems like he still keeps the house. It's nice that the house has a piece of the spirit of the previous owners. Even during all the repairs, the house retains a piece of its old soul, and that feeling is pleasant." /GazetaExpress/
