Lutfi Haziri, vice president of the Democratic League of Kosovo, has reacted harshly to Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accusing him of politically exploiting figures from Gjilan and excluding this region from institutional attention.
Haziri mentioned the case of actor Fatmir Spahiu, who according to him was nominated for minister before the elections, but was subsequently not included in the government, without any public explanation.
He emphasized that a similar approach was followed towards Feride Rushiti, suggesting that her nomination was made without any real intention of appointment.
"He nominated Fatmir Spahiu, the icon of Kosovar cinema, for minister before the elections, but after the elections he chose someone else entirely, without any explanation, without any apology. He did the same with Dr. Feride Rushiti. He nominated her so that she wouldn't be elected."
According to Haziri, these cases constitute evidence of how, in his opinion, the names and authorities of the people of Gjilan were used for electoral gains, while after the elections they were left out of decision-making and development.
"This is the greatest proof of how the people of Gjilan are used only for votes and without development projects, and how the names of the authorities are used to overcome crises."
