The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, congratulated the citizens on the 18th anniversary of Independence, saying that they honor independence by working with functional institutions that operate with integrity and professionalism, reports Ekonomia Online.
After raising the flag at a ceremony, Haxhiu said that today they also remember with construction all those who gave their lives for independence.
"Today we mark the 18th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, perhaps a new republic, but not so new to understand that freedom requires daily commitment. Today, but also every other day, we remember with honor and respect all those who gave their lives for the independence that we enjoy today. So, the martyrs of the nation and the martyrs. But we also honor the high figures who contributed in different circumstances and periods to the liberation, freedom and independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
