Former KLA leader Hashim Thaçi shared deep reflections on isolation on TV Klan's "Opinion", emphasizing that in the face of physical difficulties, his faith in the citizens of Kosovo remains unwavering.
Thaçi declared with conviction that, despite the fact that he is "melting" in prison, the Republic of Kosovo's journey towards progress is now an irreversible process.
"I follow what is happening in Ukraine, the Middle East or other world events. I have also experienced the "mother to someone and stepmother to someone" attitude. There is no physical force or political storm that can shake my faith in the citizens of Kosovo. Edi, today any official or former official around the world may have regretted completely unjustly for the independence of Kosovo. But, with or without Thaçi in Kosovo, this meritorious process has already ended. OK. Thaçi continues to languish in prison, but for the Republic of Kosovo I am convinced that there will be progress."
He accused Serbia of trying to criminalize the philosophy of Albanian statehood through the current legal processes. According to him, freedom and independence are victories that cannot be undone, despite possible diplomatic upheavals around the world.
“Serbia fought hard to prevent freedom and independence – it has failed to achieve this for over three decades. Now the effort is like criminalizing the philosophy of state-building. Will it succeed through this court? I don’t even want to think about it. I hope there are still people with moral value and professional integrity. The judges during the process have seen the truth. The world has seen the truth. The decision is in their hands.”
