The former head of the Constitutional Court, Enver Hasani, is considering that President Vjosa Osmani's decree to dissolve the Kosovo Assembly is unconstitutional and as such should be contested.
Hasani said that last night, after the start of the procedures for electing the president, the 60-day deadline began.
"This arbitrary decree must definitely be contested and the Constitutional Court must have the final say. This arbitrariness and this total irresponsibility towards the Constitution must not be allowed. Last night, after the start of the procedures for the election of the President of the Republic, the 60-day deadline began to run. The Court must urgently impose a temporary measure to prevent further erosion of the constitutional order," he told Kosova Press.
"Today's decree is completely unconstitutional and affects the foundations of the form of state power. The role and position of the President of the Republic is clear in the Constitution of Kosovo and it is not a presidential system," Hasani added.
