Lewis Hamilton revealed he had been hit by a squirrel, which slightly damaged his Ferrari at the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday night.
Hamilton started the race in Montreal in fifth place and seemed to be on a positive path, but then lost his stride, writes "Yahoo", reports "Gazeta Express".
Television replays show that his Ferrari hit a large ground squirrel, a common problem at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Notre Dame Island in Montreal, which resulted in a hole in the floor of his SF-25.
The Briton then lacked enough speed, losing nearly half a second per lap, finishing in sixth place behind his teammate, Charles Leclerc.
Lewis Hamilton hit a groundhog earlier in the race, causing damage and a loss of downforce.

"Up until that point I was feeling good. The start was good, I held my position, I was feeling optimistic and then I didn't see what was happening, but I heard I hit an object," Hamilton said after the race.
"It's devastating to me, I love animals and I'm very sad about this, it's terrible. This has never happened to me here, but the floor had a hole in it," he added.
Hamilton's former team, Mercedes, secured a double podium and the first win of the season with George Russell.
Italian teenager Kimi Antonelli also secured his first Formula 1 podium, while Hamilton has yet to secure a podium with Ferrari this season. /Express newspaper
