The final hearings for a week in a row against former KLA leaders in The Hague have aroused extraordinary curiosity among the public.

Over 220 people have submitted a request to be physically present in the courtroom, in what is expected to be the epilogue of a long process.

But the court's public gallery has a capacity for 67 seats.

In a response to T7, the Special Court confirmed that due to limited numbers, priority was given to certain categories.

"The court has received over 220 requests from people wishing to attend the hearings from the public gallery. Since the public gallery has only 67 seats, priority has been given to family members of the accused, the Kosovo Embassy, and the media, especially those from Kosovo or the region," Angela Griep told T7.

Lawyer Artan Qerkini considers the process conducted so far in the Specialized Chambers against former KLA leaders to be accompanied by numerous violations.

Qerkini, as accredited by the Court, explains the steps that are expected to be taken after the conclusion of the closing arguments in this process.

The Special Court has clarified via email that confirmations for participation have started to be sent from Wednesday, February 4, while the procedure is still ongoing. /Blerta Zuka- T7/
