The Ministry of Justice has issued a press release regarding the meeting that Minister Donika Gërvalla held yesterday with the United Kingdom Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, who said that he and Gërvalla discussed the importance of quickly resolving political challenges so that Kosovo can progress and deliver results for its citizens.
The ministry's press release states that Gërvalla and Hargreaves discussed the progress of justice reforms and the strengthening of institutions that guarantee the unwavering rule of law and the full integrity of the justice system.
The press release adds that Gërvalla also spoke about the Vetting process and ''the reform initiative in the justice system, as well as the full functioning of the Bureau for the verification and confiscation of unjustified assets''.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, together with Deputy Minister of Justice, Genc Nimoni, hosted the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Jonathan Hargreaves, with whom they discussed the progress of justice reforms and the strengthening of institutions that guarantee the unwavering rule of law and the full integrity of the justice system.
Minister Gërvalla highly praised the cooperation with the United Kingdom, with a special focus on justice and the rule of law, describing it as permanent, sustainable and multilateral cooperation.
"The Republic of Kosovo continuously appreciates their support in reform processes, in strengthening the integrity and accountability of our institutions, and especially the efforts of the British state to support survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo and address gender-based violence," she said.
During the meeting, Minister Gërvalla also mentioned the Vetting process and the reform initiative in the justice system, as well as the full operationalization of the Bureau for the Verification and Confiscation of Unjustified Assets, which she considered a prerequisite for a justice system that does not tolerate compromise.
"The fight against corruption and organized crime is a clear line of our mandate, and the Republic of Kosovo will always remain determined that every abuse is punished and every citizen enjoys real, accessible and uncompromised justice," said Minister Gërvalla, adding that only in this way can the state strengthen its institutions, guarantee functional justice and transparency, and ensure that the rule of law remains a basic priority of the Republic of Kosovo.
