A person had their smartphone stolen while they were sleeping at Hagen Central Station in the early morning of August 11. Thanks to a quick search, the Federal Police managed to arrest the suspected perpetrator and seize the stolen goods, albinfo.ch reports.
The 56-year-old Kosovar citizen presented himself to the Federal Police at around 2:40 a.m. and stated that his smartphone had been stolen while he was sleeping on a bench in the main lobby.
According to his account, he had previously noticed a man asking him for a cigarette and had watched him suspiciously. Based on this description, the police immediately encountered a 53-year-old German citizen living in Kierspe, writes news.de. During a search, they found the stolen mobile phone and returned it to its owner.
The suspect initially did not give a statement and, after being instructed, refused to testify. The Federal Police launched an investigation against him for aggravated theft.
