The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, in partnership with The Heritage Foundation, organized the discussion “Economic Sustainability, Security, and Growth in a Fragmented World,” featuring James Jay Carafano. The discussion was moderated by Petrit Selimi, while the opening remarks were delivered by Pleurat Hundozi, Member of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber.
The discussion also addressed the growing impact of geopolitical fragmentation on global economic stability, with a particular focus on energy security, sustainable and affordable energy supply, and the importance of strategic partnerships in strengthening the resilience of smaller economies.
"During the discussion, the importance of the United States' continued engagement in the Balkans was also emphasized, as well as the need for Kosovo to continue to strengthen economic and institutional stability, clarify its geopolitical positioning, and advance long-term sustainable development," the statement said.
Participants also discussed ways in which Kosovo can more strongly articulate its potential as a stable and forward-looking partner, contributing to regional stability, economic cooperation, and strengthening transatlantic ties in an increasingly complex global environment.
