According to reports from Turkey, Galatasaray have decided to no longer pursue the transfer of Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer, after revealing his high financial demands.
The name of the veteran Swiss goalkeeper was mentioned as one of the Turkish club's targets for the summer transfer window. Initial talks and contacts were held with the player's representatives, but it seems that the responses received were not in line with Galatasaray's expectations.
According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, sporting director Abdullah Kavukcu has been informed by Sommer's representatives that the player is seeking a two-year contract with a salary of 7-8 million euros per season - a figure that is much higher than the maximum offer of 3 million euros per season that Galatasaray had planned.
Besides the high salary, another obstacle is Inter themselves, who are willing to sell the goalkeeper, but not for the 1-2 million euros that Galatasaray is offering. This makes the deal almost impossible and Sommer is expected to be removed from the Turkish club's wish list for this summer.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray is also interested in midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu, but even in this case, it is difficult for the Turkish club to meet Inter's request of 30 million euros for the player./Express newspaper/
