February 5th is the luckiest day for those who dream of becoming professional footballers – at least that's what the legend says.
For years, Sunport has highlighted this date as the moment when the universe seems to have decided to bestow an extra magic on those with a talent for football. If today is your birthday, you could be part of a team of five that includes players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Carlos Tevez and Gheorghe Hagi.
Some of the famous footballers celebrating their birthdays today are Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Vedran Corluka, Adnan Januzaj, Patrick Roberts and Billy Sharp. We're not sure who the goalkeeper would be in this team, and there aren't many defenders, but you certainly wouldn't want to see this group playing on your football pitch on a regular Thursday night.
SunSport doesn't do things by halves, so we set out to find the best possible team of "birthdays." However, this was a longer process than expected, so we ultimately decided to rank the top five players born on each day of the year.
In the end, even though the work was tiring, we are interested to know if anyone can take the "crown" of February 5th!
