France may not have won this year's Eurovision Song Contest and came in fourth place, but Slimane's song "Mon Amour" won the admiration and love of the world.
The ballad has already set an impressive record, as within 24 hours, it became the first French song in Spotify history to surpass 2 million streams.
The singer emotionally thanked fans and supporters in a video he posted on his Instagram account, saying: "Good evening friends, I hope you are well.
"I'm making this video because I feel very touched. I'm very happy. Last Sunday we 'broke' a historical record with Mon Amour. It became the most streamed French song in Spotify history within 24 hours. It was more than 2,000,000."
Slimane and his performance were adored by both Malmö Arena and TV viewers who saw the 34-year-old singing meters away from the microphone and not missing the soundtrack.
The song has been liked so much that it continues to be reposted more and more on social networks, with positive comments for the French singer.
