New trouble for former England midfielder Joey Barton.
The 43-year-old was arrested by police after an altercation near a golf club in Liverpool.
According to British media reports, the incident occurred on Sunday at around 21:00 PM near Huyton and Prescot Golf Club, where emergency services were called after a person was attacked during a fight, reports "Gazeta Express".
The victim suffered injuries to his face and ribs and was taken to the hospital for treatment and medical examination.
Merseyside Police confirmed that two people, a 43-year-old and a 50-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of "intentional grievous bodily harm", a serious charge in British law.
Both have been questioned as investigations into the incident continue.
