The five-year-old child from Janjevo, Lipjan, who was mistreated by his parents, has been released from the Pediatrics Clinic at UCCK and his health condition is stable.
This was confirmed to Gazeta Express by QKUK spokesperson Mirlinda Qyqalla, who said that he has already been taken by the Center for Social Work in Gjakova.
"In response to the questions posed, based on official data from the Pediatric Clinic, we inform you that the child's health condition is stable. The child was released from the Pediatric Clinic yesterday. He was taken by the CSW in Gjakova," she said.
The final report on this case, which shocked the public, was recently submitted to the Ministry of Labor and Family, where it was found that the Lipjan Social Work Center was to blame.
The head of this ministry, Andin Hoti, said that he received the final report on Wednesday afternoon from the Division for the Inspection of Social and Family Services.
He warned of punitive measures for all those found to have failed to properly handle the case.
"I surprisingly received the report today. One of the findings of the report says that in the 2023 Court decision, it obliged the Center for Social Work to monitor the family in relation to children. So, it obliged the Center for Social Work in relation to parents for their mental health, that CSWs do not deal with mental health, it is the Mental Health Centers that deal with mental health, not the CSW. However, it is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office. What else can we do is a proposal to the mayor of Lipjan to subject all the staff of the Center for Social Work in Lipjan to disciplinary measures and we will do this tomorrow, because today is outside the working hours and to review whether they have really followed the measures," Hoti said earlier for the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The five-year-old had received intensive treatment at UCCK after being mistreated by his parents.
His two parents were sentenced to pre-trial detention by a decision of the Basic Court of Pristina. Meanwhile, the six children of this family have been taken into care by the Lipjan Social Work Center. /Express/
