Manchester United have allowed five players to report later to pre-season training to focus on completing their transfers this summer.

The club has made the approach of Matheus Cunha official, after activating the release clause in his contract with Wolves.

However, the transfer market remains active for the Red Devils, with coach Ruben Amorim interested in signing Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and another England international.

Amorim is also planning to offload several players to balance the club's finances, and several big names are being linked with a possible move away from Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, and Alejandro Garnacho, are among the players who could leave.

Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are also mentioned.

According to journalist Nathan Salt, these five players – Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho, Antony and Malacia – have been told to report to training later in July, in order to finalise their departure from the club.

According to Chris Wheeler, if they fail to secure a transfer, they will be welcomed back into the squad and will have access to the club's facilities and rehabilitation services, even during their absence from the training centre.

Sancho, Antony and Malacia, like Rashford, were on loan last season:

Jadon Sancho was loaned to Chelsea, but the London club did not activate the option to buy for 40 million pounds.

Antony excelled with Real Betis in Spain, where he scored 9 goals in 26 appearances.

Alejandro Garnacho played in 58 games in all competitions, scoring 11 goals, but his future is expected to be away from Old Trafford; Arsenal, Aston Villa and Chelsea have shown interest.

Tyrell Malacia moved on loan to PSV Eindhoven, playing 12 games after arriving in February.

The situation of these five players remains open as United look to structure the squad for the new season./Express newspaper/
