First Deputy Prime Minister, Bekim Sali, emphasized that strengthening municipalities is one of the key elements for the development of the state and accelerating the path towards integration into the European Union.
In a status published on social networks after an event dedicated to inter-municipal cooperation, Sali underlined that real reforms occur at the local level, where citizens directly feel the effects of public policies.
"Strong municipalities mean a stronger state and faster European integration. Reforms happen at the local level – where citizens directly feel the results," Sali wrote.
He added that strengthening cooperation between municipalities brings about improved public services and increases institutional efficiency, while also creating more opportunities for access to European funds.
"Strengthening cooperation between municipalities means better quality services, greater efficiency and more access to European funds. European integration begins in our municipalities", emphasized the First Deputy Prime Minister.
