FIFA has finally decided about the spectators regarding the Serbia - Albania match.
The Disciplinary Committee of the home of world football has in fact punished the Serbian Football Federation with the partial closure of the Leskovac stadium, where the match between Serbs and Albanians will take place, writes "Gazeta Express".
This decision came after the riots and incidents that occurred in Belgrade last month during the match between Serbia and England.
Therefore, although FIFA's decision has not yet been made public and official, the Serbian media "Sport Klub"reports that only 6,500 spectators will be present at the stadium for the October 11 match, valid for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, out of the 8136 capacity of the Leskovac stadium.
So, FIFA has punished the Serbian Federation with the closure of 20 percent of the stadium, while also fining it with money, more precisely with 80 thousand Swiss francs.
The Serbs themselves had asked FIFA to move the game from Belgrade to Leskovac due to the tense and unstable situation caused by the ongoing protests in the Serbian capital.
In the event of another incident in the game with Albania, FIFA has warned the Serbian Federation, which has been warned of even more severe penalties.
Albania and Serbia drew in Tirana in their first match, while the one in Leskovac is considered a final between these two national teams, who are aiming for second place in the group, which leads to the "play-offs" and gives hope for eventual qualification for the 2026 World Cup. /Express newspaper
