The United Arab Emirates announced on Sunday that it had shot down four ballistic missiles and six drones launched by Iran.

In a statement, the UAE's Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems in this Middle Eastern country have intercepted (stopped or blocked) a total of 298 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,606 drones launched by the Islamic Republic since February 28, reports AA, quoted by KosovaPress.

According to authorities, six people, citizens of the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, were killed in these attacks, while 142 other people of various nationalities were injured.

The ministry stressed that the UAE is fully prepared to face any threat, adding that the country will react decisively to any action aimed at destabilizing the state's security and violating its sovereignty and national interests.

Since from February 28th, the United States and Israel have carried out military attacks on Iran, which have reportedly caused more than 1,200 casualties. On the first day of these attacks, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed, as well as senior military officials.

In response, Tehran has launched missile and drone attacks on Israel, Iraq and Gulf countries where US military bases are located. Some of these attacks have caused casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports and buildings.
