Distria Krasniqi has completed her participation in the "Budapest 2025" World Judo Championships with a silver medal, in the up to 52 kg category, excelling with a dignified performance until the grand final, where she was defeated by Japanese champion Uta Abe after a strong fight, ending with Ippon.
After the competition ended, her coach, Driton Kuka, described the day as a great success, emphasizing that this is the ninth world medal for Kosovar judo and proof that our sport is moving forward, despite the challenges:
"World Runner-up! Distria Krasniqi 52 kg. Congratulations Kosovo, congratulations Albanians wherever you are! Disi's beautiful performance today! She reached the grand final, she was working well, but the Japanese Abe took advantage of a mistake and that was enough! Judo and our federation continue on, friends, medal number 9 from the World Championships! We will move forward, despite the obstructions of our federation's projects. I will never stop, don't be surprised!"
