The final round of the Kosovo Super League in basketball brought great emotions and upsets in the standings, determining the fate of the teams for playoffs and survival.
Despite suffering a heavy 113:80 loss to Trepça in Mitrovica, Sigal Prishtina managed to secure a place in the playoffs. The fate of the Prishtina team depended on the results of the other matches, and they turned out to be favorable.
After the victories of Vëllaznimi and Rahoveci 029, the three teams finished with 38 points each. However, thanks to the ranking, Prishtina was positioned sixth and secured participation in the playoffs. Rahoveci 029 finished seventh, ensuring survival in the elite, while Vëllaznimi remained eighth and was relegated from the Superliga.
Meanwhile, Trepça, which had previously secured first place, recorded another routine victory to end the regular season in the best possible way.
In Gjakova, Vëllaznimi triumphed 88:82 over Peja at the “Shani Nushi” gym. However, this victory was not enough. The fate of the Gjakova team was sealed after the dramatic match in Suhareka, where Rahoveci 029 defeated Golden Eagle Ylli.
The match between Yllit and Rahovec 029 was spectacular and was decided only after overtime. Regular time ended 75:75, while in the five extra minutes the guests proved to be more accurate, scoring 14 points against the home team's eight for the final score of 89:83.
With this victory, Rahoveci 029 ensured survival in the Super League, while Vëllaznimi, despite the victory over Peja, finished last and fell to the second category.
On the other hand, Peja will start the playoffs in fifth place and in the quarterfinals will face Golden Eagle Yllin, who ended the regular season in fourth place.
