According to Sport Bild, Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck is expected to make a decision on his future by mid-March.
Talks over the 26-year-old's future have been ongoing for several months, as he wants to see Dortmund in a position to challenge for titles before renewing his contract with the club.
The situation could be slightly complicated by Schlotterbeck's post-match reaction, where he spoke about following current Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
Schlotterbeck is expected to make a final decision on whether to stay at Signal Iduna Park or leave by mid-March.
If he stays, there could be a release clause of €60m, which could drop to €50m if Niko Kovac's side fail to qualify for the Champions League.
The 26-year-old has two real options for his future. The first is to stay at Dortmund and renew his contract beyond 2027.
The second option is to join Real Madrid. The Spanish club are the only ones to have shown any real interest in Schlotterbeck, and with the futures of compatriots Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba still uncertain, as well as injury-prone Eder Militao, Schlotterbeck could have a significant role to play.
However, Madrid will only make transfer decisions once the coach for next season is confirmed./Express newspaper/
