Reports in Italy claim that Juventus will sit down to discuss a new contract with coach Luciano Spalletti within the next week and that his future in Turin does not depend on qualifying for the Champions League for next season.
Spalletti joined Juventus following the departure of Igor Tudor earlier this season and signed an initial contract until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Since then, Spalletti has insisted that settling on a long-term deal is not a priority for him, especially with the season still underway.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport, the coach and the club could sit down for talks over a new contract within the next week, perhaps at the beginning of the week, if not earlier.
According to the same report, qualifying for the Champions League next season is not a necessary condition for Juventus to extend Spalletti's contract.
On the contrary, the "Bianconeri" prefer to have a stabilized coach and, consequently, a more stable team.
