Distria Krasniqi has started the competition with victory at the World Judo Championships being held in Budapest, Hungary.
The Peja judoka retired in the first round of the 52-kilogram competition, but started the competition with a victory in the 32nd round.
Distria was superior to her Brazilian opponent, Jessica Pereira, whom she defeated by ippon, after previously receiving a yoko and a waza-ari.
In the next match, in the round of 16, the Spaniard will face Francine Echevarria of Puerto Rico.
Otherwise, Akil Gjakova will compete on Sunday, while Laura Fazliu will compete on Monday.
