In an innovative and unexpected step for the Albanian public administration, Prime Minister Edi Rama today introduced the newest cabinet minister - Diella, the first virtual member of the government.
With a special mandate and a structure adapted to the challenges of the digital age, Diella will take over the leadership of Public Procurement in the fourth governing mandate.
"New minister, Diella, with the digital seal that she has given to digital citizens these years. Diella, the first member not physically present, but virtually created, will have an adapted structure and a special mandate to break down the fears, barriers and narrowness of the administration," Rama declared during his speech.
Diella's appointment comes as part of an effort to introduce technology and artificial intelligence deeper into the functioning of the state, breaking the traditional boundaries of bureaucracy and increasing transparency in a delicate sector such as public procurement.
