Simeone appeared to be concerned when White stepped on the Atletico Madrid club crest, which is located on the pitch near the tunnel leading to the changing rooms. Initially, an Atletico Madrid player confronted White, but Simeone intervened and pulled his player aside.
The former Argentina champion then touched White's back twice, which sparked a heated argument between them, as the Arsenal defender interpreted the gesture as a provocation.
The situation escalated further when Simeone pushed White twice as the two teams tried to separate as they entered the tunnel. However, the situation was calmed down without getting out of hand.
The event contrasted sharply with the reception Simeone gave his compatriot and Arsenal coach Gabriel Heinze, with whom he hugged before parting ways. Meanwhile, after greetings with Arsenal staff, the atmosphere with Simeone seemed cooler.
