How important it is to think and speak in a beneficial way about good physical health but above all about psycho-emotional well-being.
Thoughts are not just words in our minds. Thoughts are what generate chemical signals that describe the body, affecting every cell in our body.
According to this logic, we understand that negative thoughts can cause stress and illness, while positive thoughts are those that give us the opportunity for well-being that is not jeopardized by external factors and that have a pessimistic emotional charge.
Some examples of thoughts that have a negative effect on our body:
"I'm not good enough..." stimulates the production of adrenaline in the body, leading to a long-term feeling of mental exhaustion and chronic fatigue.
"I don't deserve to be happy for the mistakes I've made", we risk not producing serotonin (the hormone of happiness) and promote the feeling of depression and self-isolation.
A thought like; "I am a failure," increases the production of cortisol (the stress hormone), causing digestive problems and headaches.
Some examples of thoughts that have a positive effect on our body:
"I can overcome this challenge," stimulates dopamine production, improving motivation and concentration levels.
“I feel proud of what I have achieved.” It helps increase serotonin levels, which makes us feel happy.
"I learn from every experience," activates the prefrontal cortex, improving decision-making ability.
"I deserve success and to be happy", makes possible the production of endorphins, which improves mood.
We must be aware of what we are capable of causing to our body, through our thoughts. Let us try to judge and think in a useful and encouraging way, without being overwhelmed and defeated by the problems of our daily lives, but let us learn to coexist with them productively and face them with optimism even when life confronts us with difficulties. Let us not forget that every thought of ours and the emotional charge that our thoughts carry, is fully reflected in every cell of our body!
