Today (Saturday), starting at 10:00, the funeral of two brothers, Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, will begin.
Thousands of football fans, especially Liverpool fans, gathered at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar church to show their support for the family and pay tribute to the deceased.
Shortly before the funeral ceremony began, his wife (Diogo Jotas), Rute Cardoso, also appeared at the church where the funeral will be held.
Diogo Jota and his wife were married just 11 days before his death.
The entire Liverpool squad will also attend the ceremony, with most players cutting short their holidays to pay their respects to their former teammate.
Jota and his brother died in a car accident near the Spanish province of Zamora in the early hours of Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 00:30 local time, according to a statement from Spain's Guardia Civil.
Jota had been advised not to travel by plane after a minor surgical procedure, so he was travelling by car to catch the ferry that would take him back to England, where he was expected to begin preparations for the new season on Monday.
