Dardan Vuniqi has been elected Deputy Chair of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council through an open vote, receiving 6 votes from the members of the KPC. His mandate begins on March 13, 2026 and will last until the end of his mandate as a member of the KPC.
Before the election, Vuniqi presented his platform and objectives, emphasizing that his commitment is based on increasing public trust in the prosecutorial system and exercising powers in accordance with the law. He promised oversight of the work of prosecutors, advancements based on transparency, accountability and legal standards, as well as strengthening quarterly reporting mechanisms by chief prosecutors.
Special attention will be paid to the publication of periodic reports on the work of prosecutors, the drafting of analyses to increase the performance of the system, and the recruitment of staff and prosecutors according to changes in regulations.
Vuniqi also emphasized the importance of proper human resource planning and inter-institutional cooperation with local and international partners for an efficient and transparent functioning of the prosecutorial system.
