Danish Foreign Minister Lars Loke Rasmussen said today that relations with the United States regarding former President Donald Trump's request to buy Greenland have improved, but added that the crisis "is not over yet."

“The crisis is not over and we do not have a solution yet,” Rasmussen said during a press conference in Nuuk, the capital of the Danish autonomous territory, adding that “the situation is much better now than a few weeks ago.” He also assured that there is “no threat on the table” and that there is “no trade war with Europe.”

For her part, Greenlandic Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt said that while it is positive that talks with the US are continuing, Greenland has not yet reached the point it wants, and it is too early to predict the outcome.

"We are not yet where we want to be. It will be a long road, so it is too early to say where we will end up," Motzfeldt said during a joint press conference in Nuuk with her Danish and Canadian counterparts.
