Kosovo Customs has published a notice regarding the non-taxable limit for goods that travelers bring with them in personal luggage when entering the country, clarifying the rules and limits that apply under the legislation in force.
According to the announcement, goods in the personal luggage of travelers coming from outside Kosovo are exempt from import duties, as long as they are for personal use and have no commercial purpose. This category includes only goods that are incidental in nature and that leave no doubt that they are for sale, while portable containers holding fuel are excluded.
Customs explains that every traveler is obliged to declare goods if their value exceeds the allowed limit or if they are for commercial purposes.
As for limits, travelers entering Kosovo by land or rail can bring duty-free goods up to a value of 300 euros per person, while those traveling by plane benefit from a higher limit of 430 euros per person. For children under the age of 15, the duty-free limit is up to 150 euros.
This announcement aims to inform citizens about the rules in force and avoid misunderstandings when crossing the border, while also facilitating customs procedures for travelers.
