Kosovo Customs has discovered almost 20 thousand kilograms of expired vegetable fat-based food products during a check at an authorized customs warehouse in the Mitrovica region.
After verifying the documentation and comparing the electronic data with the actual situation in the warehouse, it was found that 19,875 kilograms of goods had exceeded their expiration date. The Food and Veterinary Agency was notified of the case, which ordered the destruction of the products in accordance with the legislation in force.
During the same inspection, Customs also identified the absence of 5,450 kilograms of goods that should have been under customs supervision, but were not found in the warehouse premises. /Gazeta Express

Kosovo Customs discovers expired goods and stock shortages in a customs warehouse
Kosovo Customs, through regular checks of customs authorizations and supervision of goods under customs control, has conducted an inspection visit to an authorized customs warehouse in the Mitrovica region.
During the inspection, the fulfillment of the conditions and obligations arising from the authorization for the storage of goods under customs supervision was verified. After analyzing the documentation and comparing the electronic data with the actual situation in the warehouse, the customs officials found that some of the stored goods had exceeded their expiration date.
It concerns 19,875 kilograms of vegetable fat-based food product, for which it was determined that the expiration date had expired. The Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) was immediately notified of this case, whose officials went to the scene and confirmed the condition of the goods, ordering its destruction in accordance with the legislation in force.
The expired goods have been removed from the customs warehouse and transferred according to the relevant procedures to the premises designated by Kosovo Customs, until the completion of the destruction procedures.
Also, during the physical inventory of the stock, a discrepancy was found between the reported and actual situation. Of the quantity that should have been under customs supervision, 5,450 kilograms of goods were missing, which were not found in the customs warehouse premises during the inspection.
Kosovo Customs has initiated further administrative and investigative procedures to clarify the circumstances of this case and determine legal responsibilities, in accordance with the provisions of the Customs and Excise Code.
