The Seoul Central District Court has decided to re-arrest former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol in connection with an investigation into the events of the state of emergency of December 3, 2024.
On June 6, special counsel Cho Eun-seok, who is leading the investigation into the martial law incident, issued an arrest warrant for him. Yoon Suk-yeol is suspected of five serious criminal offenses, including forging documents related to alleged irregularities during a cabinet meeting, obstruction of justice for preventing law enforcement from detaining him through the presidential security service, and attempting to destroy evidence.
Previously, Yoon Suk Yeol was accused of organizing an uprising against the constitutional order.
