According to reports from Spain, Barcelona have identified Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez as a potential transfer target.
The report highlights that the La Liga champions are big admirers of the Argentine defender, who has impressed with his performances for United in recent months, confirming himself as one of the most important figures in the defensive department.
Martinez (28) joined Manchester United in 2022 from Ajax, following Erik ten Hag from Amsterdam to Old Trafford, following the Dutchman's appointment as manager of the Red Devils.
Since then, the Argentine has made more than 100 appearances in all competitions, and has played 13 games this season.
Martinez's contract with United runs until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the English club also having the option to extend the deal by an additional year.
However, the report reveals that Barcelona are one of several clubs monitoring the player's situation, with the Catalans being the only team whose interest has been officially confirmed so far.
It is also said that, should United decide to put him up for sale, Martinez could be valued at around £47 million.
Despite the interest, Manchester United's current stance is clear: Lisandro Martinez is not for sale, due to the key role he plays in the squad and in the club's long-term plans.
