FC Barcelona is entering an intense summer in terms of the transfer market, but to make two big moves, the club must first generate revenue and free up space in the wage bill.
The directors aim to balance the budget by offloading some well-known names such as Marc-André ter Stegen and Robert Lewandowski, however their sale is not expected to bring major financial benefits.
Meanwhile, the situation is different for Marc Casadó. The 22-year-old midfielder, a product of La Masia's academy, has failed to secure a consistent role this season and with the return of Gavi, he has fallen even further down the midfield hierarchy, behind the likes of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal and Eric García.
For this reason, the club is open to offers for him during the summer. Barcelona estimate that his price could decrease if he continues to lack sufficient space, while the player himself sees leaving as the best opportunity to play more.
Casadó is no longer considered part of coach Hansi Flick's plans and all parties seem to agree on a separation at the end of the season.
Currently, a move to Saudi Arabia is seen as the most concrete option, as several clubs have shown serious interest. In the past, he has also been monitored by Atlético Madrid and several Premier League teams, leaving the possibility of other developments open.
For the Catalan club, selling to Saudi Arabia would be more financially advantageous, but the final decision will depend on the player's own sporting desires and objectives.
