Without any criminal liability, candidates with stolen votes are expected to be certified as deputies of the Kosovo Assembly next week.

The prosecutors' offices in Peja, Gjakova, Prizren, Mitrovica and Pristina have arrested and interviewed commissioners and chairmen of counting commissions, but have not confirmed whether they have interviewed candidates for deputies who were part of the race in the December 28 elections.

KOHA asked these prosecutors about the motives they have identified so far in the suspects to commit criminal offenses, but some of them said that they are in the early stages of the investigation. The Basic Prosecution in Peja and the one in Pristina announced other investigative steps. The Pristina Prosecution has announced that it is investigating the vote counting in Obiliq.

"On 04.02.2026, the Prosecution authorized the Kosovo Police to interview several suspects in the Municipality of Obiliq, regarding suspicions of abuse or falsification during the process of counting votes of candidates of political entities. After the interview, the suspects were released in a regular procedure, while investigations are continuing with the aim of fully clarifying the circumstances of the case," the Pristina Prosecution Office said in a statement.

The Prosecutor's Office in Peja has interviewed 30 suspects for falsifying voting results in Deçan and Junik.

The spokesperson for this prosecution, Shkodran Nikçi, said that the interviewees are commissioners.

"This investigation will also be followed by commissioners in these municipalities, where the chairmen of these voting centers who have been implicated in this process will then be interviewed, and other actions will be taken for the other municipalities that we have under our jurisdiction as the prosecutor's office... A number of commissioners, including the chairmen, are around 200 people who have started to be interviewed as of today, I am talking about the municipalities that we cover, which are five. We started with the municipalities of Deçan and Junik, and then the other municipalities will follow," said Nikçi.

The Municipality of Peja is leading in terms of increasing votes in the Peja region, which also includes the Municipalities of Klina, Deçan and Istog.

In this municipality, the most votes within Vetëvendosje were manipulated – 2.469 of them.

While among the candidates for MPs, the most votes were added to VV's Taulant Kelmendi, 955 of them, PDK's Xhavit Haliti 458 votes, AAK's Ali Berisha 172 votes, and LDK's Fatmir Asllani 112 votes.

In Junik, 98 votes were added to the candidates: 48 votes to LVV candidates, 22 votes to AAK candidates, 16 votes to LDK candidates, eight votes to the Albanian Democratic National Front, and four votes to PDK candidates.

Three votes were stolen in favor of Donika Gërvalla, Andin Hoti, and Rea Krasniqi from LVV. Two votes in this municipality were added to Ukë Rugova from LDK, and one vote each to four PDK candidates.

While in Deçan, AAK candidates have 430 additional votes, LVV 72 votes, LDK 70 votes, PDK 38 votes, and the Albanian Democratic National Front 11 additional votes or a total of 621 votes. In this municipality, 188 votes were stolen in favor of Hamdi Komoni, 25 for Daut Haradinaj, and 22 for Time Kadrijaj. There was also an increase for Arjeta Fejza for six votes and Ejup Maqedonci for four votes from LVV, as well as 8 votes for Hykmete Bajrami of LDK.

In an interview on KTV, the coordinating prosecutor for the elections, Laura Pula, said that initially the commissioners and chairpersons will be interviewed, and then the candidates.

According to her, depending on the results that will emerge from this phase of the investigation, they will then deal with interviewing the candidates for deputies, if it turns out that any of them were involved. Pula also said on the "60 Minutes" show that no one falsifies the results without having a certain interest.
