The mayor of several mandates in the municipality of Fushë-Kosovo, Burim Berisha, will no longer be a candidate for this position in the local elections on October 12.
The news was announced by the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, through a post on Facebook, where he also announced Besnik Osmani's candidacy.
"From one winner to another. From Burim Berisha to Besnik Osmani," writes Abdixhiku.
"With deep gratitude, we thank Burim Berisha - the man who for 25 years, with 5 mandates as an elected official, gave this municipality a calm, visionary and responsible direction. From a suburb, a town of fields, he transformed Fushë Kosovë into the city with the highest development rate in Kosovo. That is why Fushë Kosovë today is home to 70 thousand inhabitants," the LDK leader further writes.
He adds that today, "with full confidence and pride, we announced the candidacy of Besnik Osmani for Mayor. He is our continuation - a dedicated, prudent man, with concrete experience in governance and a clear vision for the future," Abdixhiku writes.
