The Budget Committee approved the report with amendments of the working group on the Draft Law on Amending and Supplementing the Law on Accounting, Financial Reporting and Auditing.
This was approved with 6 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions.
Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, mentioned that the proposal addresses three issues.
"The issues that we have brought as a draft law, which the chairman has also explained well, but I think it is appropriate to clarify once again that here we are dealing with the proposal, or the draft law that we have brought, mainly deals with three issues or three topics. The first has to do with the redefinition of what is called an accounting association and the obligation to join the International Federation of Accountants or in other ways how this association can be called. So this is a redefinition because it has been a point of this sector. The second has to do with the submission of financial statements in digital form, which facilitates the process and increases the accuracy of information. The third has to do with disciplinary measures and obtaining licenses or punishing licenses, which has not been well regulated in the past or in order to increase discipline, but also to ensure that the entire legal audit conforms to the appropriate criteria and standards. So, "These three are those three topics," said Murati.
